A native alternative to Logi Options+
MouseTuner keeps the hardware controls you installed Options+ for — DPI, SmartShift, battery, thumb buttons — in a menu bar app that downloads in under 4 MB. It also does things Options+ has never done. And there are things it will not replace.
Who this is for
You have an MX Master or MX Anywhere, you want its DPI and SmartShift settings to keep working on macOS, and you would rather not run the vendor suite to get them. If you also use a non-Logitech mouse, the scrolling and button mapping apply to that one too, which is the part Options+ structurally cannot do.

Rows we left out on purpose: how much memory each one uses, how many permissions each one asks for, and whether an account is mandatory. Those change between versions and we have not measured them ourselves, so they are quoted below as what users reported rather than stated here as fact.
What Options+ users wrote
None of this is our measurement. These are public posts, linked so you can read them in context and check the dates.
When I switched to SteerMouse after getting fed up with Logitech I removed everything Logi Options had on my system. It freed almost 6Gb! Granted, most of it were different versions of the app that it was downloading, updating but never deleting the previous ones for some reason.I was only using the app for remapping a few buttons and scroll/DPI changes. When uninstalling the logitech app PearCleaner removed 4GB of content. Also, in Chinese: Logi Options+ 瘦身以及 Backend connection problem 无法打开问题处理 (约 2.5 GB,根因是 /Users/Shared/LogiOptionsPlus/cache 反复堆积旧版本)
Plenty of people run Options+ without ever noticing any of this. Complaints are louder than routine use, and a list of them is not a survey.
What MouseTuner will not replace
If any of these is why you opened Options+, keep it. MouseTuner runs alongside it fine.
- Flow, the feature where one mouse moves between two computers and carries the clipboard. It needs network discovery between machines, which is outside what this app does.
- Firmware updates. Writing firmware to a mouse over a reverse-engineered protocol is a risk we are not taking.
- Logitech keyboards. MouseTuner is a mouse tool; it does not see your keyboard's hardware settings.
- Actions Ring and Smart Actions. MouseTuner has Trigger-to-Action mapping, including Chord and Hold + Scroll, but not Logitech's on-screen radial menu or its app-specific action packs.
Running both, or switching
You do not have to uninstall anything to try this. Both apps can talk to the same mouse, though if you map the same button in both, whichever one grabs it first wins — so map a given button in one place only. Settings live entirely on your machine; nothing is imported from Options+ and nothing is sent anywhere.
Try it for 30 days
Full features, no account, no payment method. If your model is not in the supported list yet, scrolling and button mapping still work.
